About the film

To Live and Die and Live

To Live and Die and Live follows Muhammad, a Detroit-raised filmmaker who returns to the city to settle his stepfather's affairs. What begins as a familiar homecoming becomes a reckoning with grief, addiction, faith, and the version of himself he left behind. The film moves through Detroit's neighborhoods with tenderness, treating the city as family rather than backdrop.\n\nOur audience gathered afterward to talk honestly about loss, masculinity, and what it costs to carry pain quietly.
